Venus (and Mercury) Retrograde Incoming..

Even though it’s been less than 24 hours since Mars finally stationed direct, we are only a handful of days out from the official start of Venus Retrograde, which begins on Saturday, March 1st, at 5:36pm MST.

That same day, just before 1am, we also enter the next Mercury Retrograde shadow period. Venus and Mercury station retrograde just one degree away from one another in Aries, with both sliding back into Pisces at the very end of March. With these two planets traveling so closely together throughout their respective retrograde transits, the themes of relationships, values, self-expression, and communication as a whole will dominate the entirety of March, and a significant portion of April. Remember, too, that we are still very much within the grasp of the Mars Retrograde shadow throughout the next couple of months.

The last time we did Venus Retrograde in Aries and Pisces was back in March and April of 2017, and before that was in March and April of 2009. You may find yourself once again immersed in very similar - or maybe even exactly the same - things as you did back then. This is the very nature of how retrograde cycles work in our lives. This is also why us astrologers like to encourage people to understand where in your chart these transits are happening and which areas of your life they correspond to. For example, I had one client message me this morning to share that she had accepted her current job back during the Venus Retrograde in 2017, and has hated it ever since, and is now assessing what she’s going to do and where her career is headed next. And, wouldn’t you know it, Aries rules her 10th house of career, and it just so happens to also contain her Venus! She also noted that in our last session together, I told her there were going to be some big shifts in her career during the first half of this year.
